If the name Bertello doesn’t sound familiar to you, maybe Napoli will. The original brand name for this pizza oven was Napoli until it was changed to Bertello in December 2019. Napoli, now Bertello, took off after appearing on Shark Tank. But it was the Kickstarter campaign in 2017 that paved the way for Bertello to become one of the hottest-selling pizza ovens on Amazon.

The one truly unique feature of the Bertello Outdoor Pizza Oven is the ability to cook with wood and propane at the same time. Doing so gives you the ease of cooking with gas while still getting that hint of wood in the flavor.

The most common complaint about the Bertello Outdoor Pizza Oven is that the size of the opening makes it difficult to maneuver the pizza as it cooks. Because of the uneven heat distribution inside the oven, turning your pizza is essential to prevent burning. If you make your pizza just an inch or two smaller than 12", it will be much easier to work with.

  • Cooking Surface Size – The Bertello Outdoor Pizza Oven is small and lightweight, which makes transporting it easier. Unfortunately, the smaller cooking surface means you can’t bake more than one pizza at a time and you’ll likely have a hard time maneuvering your pizza while it bakes. Turning your pizza is important for an even bake, but there isn’t a lot of room to do so.
